Collection: Matthiola incana Katz | Stock
The Katz series was named in memory of Mr. Philip Katz, who for many years passionately promoted Ball Horticultural’s cut flower genetics and helped advance the breeding of high-quality florist stocks worldwide.
This modern Katz series combines all the classic traits of traditional stock—sweet fragrance, bright and solid colours, and abundant blooms—with the reliability and precision of modern genetics.
Each plant produces a long, uniform spike densely packed with flowers, making it an excellent choice for cut flower growers, bouquet production, and professional florists.
Compared to traditional European or field-grown stocks, Katz offers shorter crop time, even stem length, and synchronized flowering across the entire colour range. It also shows superior heat tolerance, allowing cultivation earlier and later in the season, and even year-round in milder climates.
Ideal for programmable flowering from Christmas through Valentine’s Day, this variety ensures consistent, high-quality stems and dependable performance in every growing environment.
Approximately 50% of plants produce double flowers, resulting in rich, fragrant, and elegant spikes that enhance every bouquet or garden display.
