With its bell-shaped flowers ranging from light purple to blue, and its signature green lantern-like seed pods, this plant is a garden standout. Plus, it’s often used to help keep pests at bay, earning its nickname, "Shoo Fly." It blooms profusely throughout the summer and into the fall, creating a vibrant display.

Germination Instructions:

  • Sow indoors 1mm deep in moist, well-drained seed compost.
  • Ideal germination temperature: 22°C.
  • Germination time: 15-20 days.
  • Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into 8cm pots to grow on.
  • Acclimatise plants before planting outside, after the danger of frost has passed. Space plants 40cm apart.

Growing Instructions:

  • Requires little maintenance once established.
  • Keep soil moist, but avoid waterlogging.
