How to Grow Zinnia elegans OKLAHOMA White

Sowing Instructions

  • Outdoor Sowing: Direct sow in the final growing position from April to May, once the soil has warmed. Sow seeds 3mm deep in finely raked, well-prepared soil, spacing rows 30 cm apart. Water regularly, and thin seedlings to 25 cm once large enough to handle.
  • Indoor Sowing: Start indoors from March to April, keeping the temperature between 15-25°C. Transplant young plants into cooler conditions after 10-15 days of acclimatization, and plant out once the risk of frost has passed.

Growing Tips

  • Requires a warm, sunny location.
  • Water regularly until the plants are well-established.
  • Deadhead spent blooms or cut flowers regularly to promote continuous flowering.
  • May require staking in windy conditions to support the tall stems.

Ideal For:

- Flower Borders

Fertilization & Care

  • Apply a balanced fertilizer weekly (100-150 ppm nitrogen).
