Petunia SUCCESS!® TR Salmon F1 | Petunia hybrida

Petunia SUCCESS!® TR Salmon F1 is an exceptional trailing grandiflora petunia with large, eye-catching salmon-coloured flowers and a beautifully spreading, cascading habit.

SUCCESS!® TR is one of the earliest flowering trailing petunia series, combining large grandiflora blooms with vigorous branching and remarkably uniform growth.

Plants grow approximately 28 cm tall and spread up to 65 cm wide, making Salmon especially beautiful in hanging baskets, balcony boxes, large pots and mixed containers.

Its warm salmon colouring adds a soft, elegant touch to summer displays and combines beautifully with white, cream, pink, apricot, burgundy and purple flowers.

What Makes SUCCESS!® TR Special?

SUCCESS!® TR combines two highly desirable characteristics: large grandiflora flowers and a genuine trailing growth habit.

Unlike more compact petunias that form rounded plants, SUCCESS!® TR develops long, spreading shoots that gradually cascade over the edges of containers.

The series is also known for its very early and uniform flowering, meaning plants develop and begin blooming consistently.

This makes SUCCESS!® TR particularly suitable for gardeners looking for a petunia that quickly creates a full, cascading display covered with large flowers.

Beautiful Salmon Flowers

Salmon produces large flowers in a beautiful warm salmon tone, creating a softer and more sophisticated appearance than traditional bright pink or red petunias.

The colour is especially attractive in romantic and pastel summer combinations.

Try combining it with:

White • Cream • Soft Pink • Apricot • Burgundy • Deep Purple • Silver Foliage

Perfect for Hanging Baskets

With a spread of approximately 65 cm, SUCCESS!® TR Salmon is particularly impressive in hanging baskets and elevated containers.

As the plant develops, its well-branched shoots grow outward and cascade over the sides, creating a full flowering display.

It is also an excellent choice for balcony and window boxes, where the flowering stems can naturally trail over the edge.

Sowing Guide

Petunia seeds are extremely small, which is why SUCCESS!® TR Salmon is supplied as pelleted seed. The coating makes individual seeds much easier to handle and sow.

When to Sow

For summer flowering, sow indoors in late winter or early spring.

Under suitable conditions, allow approximately 11–13 weeks from sowing to a flowering plant.

How to Sow

Use a fine, clean and well-drained seed-starting compost.

Moisten the substrate before sowing and place:

1 pellet per plug or cell

on the surface.

Do not cover the seed.

Petunia seeds require light for germination, so they should remain on the surface of the growing medium.

Important – Keep the Pellet Moist

This is particularly important with SUCCESS!® TR.

Benary petunia pellets require plenty of moisture to dissolve completely.

After sowing, thoroughly moisten the pellet and make sure it does not dry out during the first days.

If the pellet remains too dry, the coating may not dissolve properly and germination can become slow or uneven.

Germination

Maintain approximately:

22–24°C

during germination.

Under optimal conditions, root emergence begins in approximately 3–5 days.

Keep the substrate consistently moist during this first stage.

Once seedlings begin developing, gradually reduce the temperature to around 18–20°C and provide plenty of light.

Growing the Seedlings

After germination, gradually improve ventilation and avoid keeping established seedlings permanently saturated.

Provide plenty of light to encourage strong, compact and well-branched plants.

Water carefully and allow the substrate to become slightly less wet between waterings, without letting young plants dry out completely.

Transplanting

Transplant when the seedlings have developed a good root system and can be removed from their cells without disturbing the roots excessively.

Use a fertile, loose and well-drained growing substrate.

Planting Outside

Petunias are sensitive to frost.

Move plants outdoors only after the danger of frost has passed, gradually acclimatising them to outdoor conditions beforehand.

Choose a position in full sun or partial shade.

For the strongest growth and most abundant flowering, a sunny location is recommended.

Watering and Feeding

Petunias appreciate regular watering but do not like constantly waterlogged soil.

Water thoroughly and allow the upper layer of the substrate to dry slightly before watering again.

Plants grown in hanging baskets and balcony boxes may require frequent watering during warm summer weather.

Regular feeding with a balanced fertiliser for flowering plants will help maintain vigorous growth and continuous flowering throughout summer.
