Eustoma grandiflorum Piccolo® Lavender F1 | Group 2 Lisianthus
Eustoma grandiflorum Piccolo® Lavender F1 produces elegant single flowers in a delicate lavender shade. The smaller, cup-shaped blooms bring lightness to bouquets and floral arrangements, making this variety a beautiful choice for romantic summer flowers and wedding designs.
Part of the established Piccolo® series, Lavender F1 combines sturdy stems, firm petals and long vase life. The breeder identifies Piccolo® as a standard series for single-flowered lisianthus, with its smaller flower cups and firm petals helping reduce Botrytis-related damage during transport.

Delicate Lavender Flowers for Bouquets
Piccolo® Lavender F1 offers a graceful alternative to densely double lisianthus. Its open, cup-shaped flowers create an airy appearance and allow each bloom to stand out in an arrangement.
The lavender colour combines beautifully with white, ivory, blush pink, pale apricot and fresh green foliage. Use it in a soft pastel bouquet or alongside fuller flowers to introduce a lighter texture.
The Piccolo® Series
Piccolo® is valued for its single flowers, sturdy stems and long vase life. Its relatively small flower cups and firm petals are useful characteristics for harvesting, handling and transport.
The series includes varieties in Groups 2 and 3; Piccolo® Lavender belongs to Group 2. The breeder recommends the series for summer production or year-round greenhouse growing with artificial light. Year-round production requires controlled growing conditions.
Growing from Seed
Lisianthus develops slowly during its early stages, so allow plenty of time for indoor seed starting before the intended flowering season.
Provide a fine, well-drained seed-starting substrate, consistent moisture and good light. When using pelleted seeds, keep the surface moist enough for the coating to dissolve and follow the sowing instructions supplied with the packet.
Young plants benefit from careful handling during transplanting. Avoid allowing the roots to become crowded, and maintain the original planting depth.
Growing Conditions & Care
Choose a bright, sheltered growing position with fertile, well-drained soil. Greenhouse growing makes it easier to manage temperature, moisture and light.
Maintain even moisture without waterlogging. Provide good ventilation and avoid wetting the flowers unnecessarily to help limit grey mould. Support netting helps keep flowering stems straight.
The time from sowing to flowering depends on temperature, light and daylength. Allow for a long growing season rather than relying on a fixed flowering date.
