Extra-Large White Flowers
Corelli Sugoi™ White produces exceptionally large, fully double white flowers with numerous layers of beautifully ruffled petals.
The distinctive fringed petal edges create additional texture and volume, giving the flowers a sophisticated appearance that stands apart from more traditional smooth-petalled lisianthus varieties.
White is one of the most useful colours for professional floristry. It works beautifully in completely white arrangements but can also soften stronger colours and create a natural transition between different shades.
Corelli Sugoi™ – Extra-Large Fringed Flowers
Corelli is a professional lisianthus series developed for high-quality cut-flower production. The sought-after Sugoi™ selections are distinguished by their extra-large flowers and beautifully fringed petals.
Corelli Sugoi™ White combines:
Pure white colour • Extra-large flowers • Excellent doubleness • Fringed and ruffled petals • Long 70–90 cm stems • Professional cut-flower quality • Group 2
The combination of exceptional flower size, texture and classic white colouring makes this variety especially valuable for premium cut-flower production.
Group 2 Lisianthus
Corelli Sugoi™ White belongs to Group 2.
Lisianthus groups help growers select varieties for different seasonal production periods. Group 2 occupies an intermediate position between the cooler production conditions associated with Group 1 and the warmer periods suited to Group 3 varieties.
The actual flowering period will depend on sowing date, temperature, day length, light intensity and growing conditions.
When to Sow Lisianthus
Lisianthus develops relatively slowly during its early stages, so early sowing is recommended for cut-flower production.
Sow indoors or under protected conditions several months before the desired flowering and harvest period.
The exact sowing date should be adjusted according to local climate, production system and desired harvest time.
How to Sow Pelleted Lisianthus Seeds
Lisianthus seeds are extremely small and are therefore supplied as pelleted seeds, making accurate sowing much easier.
Fill plug trays with a fine, moist and well-drained seed-starting substrate.
Place 1 pelleted seed on the surface of each cell and gently press it against the substrate.
Do not bury the seed – lisianthus requires light for germination.
If desired, apply only a very thin layer of fine vermiculite while ensuring that light can still reach the seed.
Maintain a temperature of 20–22°C and keep the growing medium evenly moist.
Under suitable conditions, germination takes approximately 20–25 days.
It is particularly important that the pellet does not dry out after sowing. Keep it consistently moist until the coating has completely softened.
Growing the Seedlings
After germination, provide seedlings with plenty of light, good air circulation and carefully controlled moisture.
Keep the substrate evenly moist but never constantly waterlogged. Good light encourages compact, strong seedlings.
Avoid prolonged excessive temperatures during the early seedling stage, as high temperatures can interfere with normal lisianthus development.
Transplanting
Transplant seedlings once they have developed a healthy root system and are large enough to handle.
Lisianthus performs best in fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of light.
Avoid leaving young plants in plug trays for too long. Timely transplanting encourages healthy root establishment and strong subsequent growth.
For professional cut-flower production, support netting is recommended to help produce long, straight and high-quality stems.
Growing Corelli Sugoi™ White
Corelli Sugoi™ White develops long stems of approximately 70–90 cm topped with impressive, fully double white flowers.
Maintain consistent moisture during active growth without allowing the soil to become waterlogged. Balanced nutrition, good light and suitable temperatures encourage strong stems and high-quality flowers.
As a Group 2 variety, it is particularly useful for intermediate seasonal production between the earlier and warmer-season lisianthus groups.
Harvesting for Cut Flowers
Harvest when one or more flowers on the stem have opened, adjusting the harvest stage according to intended use, storage and transport.
Cut long stems with clean, sharp tools and place them immediately into clean water.
The combination of large double white flowers, beautifully fringed petals and long stems makes Corelli Sugoi™ White particularly attractive for professional floristry.
Exceptional for Wedding Floristry
White lisianthus is a classic choice for wedding flowers, but the unusual flower form of Corelli Sugoi™ White gives it a particularly luxurious appearance.
The large, textured blooms are beautiful in bridal bouquets, ceremony arrangements, table flowers and premium event installations.
For a soft neutral palette, combine it with cream, champagne, blush and pale apricot. For a fresh botanical look, pair it with green flowers and foliage. It can also provide an elegant contrast to burgundy, plum and other deep colours.
Why Grow Corelli Sugoi™ White?
Elegant pure white colour • Extra-large fully double flowers • Distinctive fringed and ruffled petals • Long 70–90 cm stems • Group 2 • Professional cut flower • Highly versatile for bouquets • Exceptional for wedding and premium floristry
