Delphinium elatum Candle Lavender Shades Imp. F1 | Delphinium | Cut Flower Seeds
Delphinium Candle Lavender Shades Imp. F1 produces tall flower spikes in soft lavender shades, adding height and gentle colour to garden borders and floral arrangements. With an impressive height of 100–180 cm, this F1 hybrid is particularly suited to growing for cut flowers.
The Candle series combines early, uniform flowering with the ability to flower under shorter days. It is suitable for greenhouse, tunnel and open-field production, giving growers flexibility when planning their flowering season.

Lavender Flower Spikes for Bouquets & Borders
The soft lavender tones pair beautifully with white, cream, blush pink and deeper purple flowers. Tall, upright spikes bring structure to bouquets and create a striking backdrop in mixed borders.
For cut flower growers, Candle offers uniform flowering and vigorous growth, helping to produce a coordinated harvest. Established plants can develop further flowering shoots after the first stems have been cut, provided growing conditions remain favourable.
Bred for Short-Day Production
Many delphinium varieties depend on longer days to flower. Candle has been bred specifically for short-day production schedules and can flower with approximately 10 hours of daylength.
This makes the series useful for winter production in a suitable protected environment. Winter flowering also depends on temperature, light intensity and crop management; the daylength requirement alone does not guarantee flowering outdoors during winter.
Sowing & Establishment
Start seeds in trays using a clean, well-drained seed-starting substrate. Maintain even moisture during germination and provide good light and ventilation as the seedlings develop.
Transplant young plants carefully into their final growing position, allowing sufficient space for strong root development and airflow.
For scheduled cut flower production, follow the supplier’s cultivar-specific germination and crop timing guidance.
Growing Conditions & Care
Choose a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly during active growth, keeping the root zone evenly moist without prolonged waterlogging.
At 100–180 cm tall, plants benefit from support netting or staking to keep their flower spikes upright, particularly in exposed positions.
After harvesting the first flower stems, continue watering and feeding as needed to support new growth and subsequent flowering.
Important: Delphiniums are harmful if eaten. Keep seeds and plants away from children and pets.
