Begonia Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf F1 | Begonia × hybrida
Begonia Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf F1 is an extraordinary interspecific multiflora begonia combining delicate light pink flowers with dramatic bronze foliage. Its exceptional branching, vigorous growth and naturally rounded habit create a large, dense plant with impressive visual impact.
Unlike compact container Begonias, Stonehedge is a substantial landscape variety, reaching approximately 110 cm in height and 75 cm in width. Its impressive size makes it particularly valuable for creating bold summer displays, large containers and dense flowering plantings.
The combination of soft light pink flowers and rich bronze leaves gives Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf a sophisticated colour contrast. Numerous flowers appear above the dark foliage throughout the season, creating an elegant yet powerful display.
One of the outstanding characteristics of Stonehedge is its extraordinary natural branching. Plants develop densely from the base, producing a full, rounded structure that can even be planted together to create a spectacular flowering “hedge” effect in the landscape.

A Truly Impressive Begonia
Stonehedge is not a typical compact Begonia. With plants reaching approximately 110 cm tall and 75 cm wide, it creates an impressive architectural presence in the garden.
Its strong growth and exceptional branching allow the plant to develop into a large, dense and beautifully rounded specimen.
This makes Stonehedge especially suitable for:
Large patio containers • Statement pots • Garden beds • Landscape planting • Large mixed containers • Mass planting • Flowering hedges
A single established plant can become a striking focal point, while several plants grown together create an impressive mass of bronze foliage and flowers.
Extraordinary Branching
One of the most important qualities of the Stonehedge series is its exceptional branching ability.
Plants naturally produce numerous branches, creating a dense and vigorous structure without relying on only a few dominant stems. This results in a fuller plant with more flowering points and a beautifully balanced, rounded shape.
The dense branching is also what makes Stonehedge particularly interesting for larger landscape plantings.
Create a Flowering “Hedge”
The name Stonehedge perfectly reflects one of the most distinctive uses of this Begonia.
When several plants are grown together, their vigorous, densely branched growth can create an impressive flowering hedge effect.
Instead of disappearing among other plants, Stonehedge creates substantial height and volume, making it particularly effective for larger flower beds, entrances, terraces and landscape displays where strong visual impact is desired.
Light Pink Flowers & Bronze Foliage
Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf combines two beautifully contrasting colours.
The soft light pink flowers stand out elegantly against the rich bronze-toned foliage, giving the plant a sophisticated appearance even before it reaches full bloom.
The darker foliage adds depth to summer plantings and makes this variety particularly beautiful alongside plants with green, silver, burgundy or lime foliage.
It is an excellent choice for creating modern, romantic and dramatic garden combinations.
Multiflora – Abundant Flowering
Stonehedge is an interspecific multiflora Begonia, developed to create an impressive whole-plant display.
Rather than relying on only a few very large flowers, the plant produces numerous flowers across its many branches, resulting in a rich and continuous flowering effect.
Its combination of abundant flowers, dramatic bronze foliage and substantial size gives Stonehedge exceptional presence in both containers and garden plantings.
Growing from Seed
Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf F1 is supplied as pelleted seed, making the naturally tiny Begonia seeds considerably easier to handle and sow.
For best results, start seeds indoors well before the outdoor growing season.
- Sow 1–2 pellets per plug or cell
- Place the pellets on the surface of moist growing medium
- Do not cover the seeds
- Light is required for germination
- Germination temperature: 22–24°C
- First seedlings: approximately 6–8 days
- Keep the growing medium consistently moist during germination
Warm and humid conditions encourage reliable germination during the first stage. Once seedlings are established, gradually reduce the temperature to approximately 20–21°C and provide good light and ventilation.
Light & Flowering
Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf is an obligate long-day plant.
A day length of more than approximately 13 hours initiates flowering. Higher light intensity and warmer growing conditions can encourage earlier flowering.
When seeds are started during the darker winter months, give young plants as much good-quality light as possible.
Once established outdoors, Stonehedge performs well in sun to partial shade.
Watering & Growing Conditions
Stonehedge prefers a fertile, high-quality and well-drained growing medium that retains sufficient moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely.
Young seedlings require consistent moisture, particularly during germination. As the plants become established, begin allowing the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings.
Mature plants prefer a good wet-to-dry watering cycle rather than constantly saturated soil.
Because Stonehedge develops into a large and vigorous plant, established specimens can require regular watering during hot summer weather, particularly when grown in containers.
Avoid allowing mature plants to become extremely dry.
Move plants outdoors only after the danger of frost has passed.
Perfect for Large Containers
With its impressive mature dimensions of approximately 110 × 75 cm, Stonehedge needs considerably more space than compact Begonia varieties.
Choose a large, stable container that gives the roots sufficient room to develop and can support the mature plant.
Stonehedge makes a spectacular individual feature plant in a large patio container, while its strong branching also allows it to become an impressive structural element in larger mixed plantings.
Spectacular in the Landscape
Stonehedge Light Pink Bronze Leaf is particularly exciting for landscape planting.
Its combination of:
Approx. 110 cm height • Exceptional branching • Dense rounded habit • Bronze foliage • Abundant light pink flowers • Vigorous growth
allows it to create substantial structure and colour within a garden.
Use individual plants as dramatic accents or plant several together to create a dense flowering screen or hedge-like effect.
Perfect For
Large patio pots • Statement containers • Large mixed containers • Garden beds • Landscape planting • Mass planting • Flowering hedge effects
