Soft Lemon Sunflower for Elegant Bouquets

Sunflower ProCut® Lemon Lite F1 is a beautiful and reliable cut-flower sunflower with soft pale lemon-yellow petals and glowing green-to-gold centers. The delicate color brings a fresh and cheerful tone to summer bouquets while maintaining the strong performance that the ProCut® series is known for.

This hybrid variety produces single-stem plants with tall, strong stems and pollen-free blooms, making it ideal for professional cut-flower production. The flowers reach approximately 10–15 cm (4–6") in diameter and have excellent vase life.

With its light, elegant color and uniform flowering, ProCut® Lemon Lite pairs beautifully with pastel or soft summer flower palettes and is highly valued by florists and flower farmers.

Plants grow quickly and typically flower 50–60 days after sowing, allowing for reliable succession planting throughout the season.

Sowing & Germination

Direct sowing (recommended):
Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost, about 1–1.5 cm (½") deep.

Indoor sowing:
Seeds can be started 2–3 weeks before planting outdoors in trays (50–72 cell). Sunflowers prefer minimal root disturbance, so handle seedlings carefully when transplanting.

Germination occurs in 7–14 days at 21–24°C.

For continuous harvest, sow every 1–2 weeks or plant several varieties with different maturity times.

Growing Instructions

Sunflowers grow best in full sun and light, well-drained soil. Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilization, which may cause overly vigorous plants and irregular flower shapes.

Do not pinch single-stem sunflowers, as pinching may result in poor-quality blooms or no flowers at all.

Flower size and stem thickness are influenced by plant spacing, temperature, soil conditions, and day length.

Harvest

Harvest flowers when buds are just beginning to show color or when nearly fully open, depending on your preferred stage for bouquets.

For drying, harvest flowers when fully open and hang upside down or dry using silica gel.
