Pallohäntä | Gomphrena globosa

Pallohäntä (Gomphrena globosa) on yksi laajimmin viljellyistä ja eniten kasvatetuista kukkalajeista, joka on kotoisin Intiasta. Nämä kasvit nauttivat kasvavaa suosiota kuivakukkakimppujen ja sisustusten lisääntyneen kiinnostuksen vuoksi. Pallokukka kasvaa tyypillisesti 30-40 cm korkeaksi ja muodostaa pystyssä olevia, vahvasti haarautuneita varsia, jotka ovat peitetty pehmeillä karvoilla suojaamaan kasveja liialta haihtumiselta kuumissa ilmastoissa.

Sen tummanvihreät, pitkänomaiset lehdet ovat järjestäytyneet pareittain varren varrelle, mikä luo viehättävän ulkonäön. Pyöreät kukintopäät, jotka sijaitsevat oksien päissä, ovat visuaalisesti näyttäviä ja houkuttelevia. Siementen kehittyessä kukintopäät alkavat pidentyä. Kaksi verhiölehteä, jotka on kiinnitetty kukintopäiden alle, antavat kasveille lisää luonteenpiirteitä. Pallokukka on ihanteellinen valinta ei vain puutarhoihin, vaan myös kuivakukkasomisteluihin!
