Helokukonharja | Celosia spicata

Helokukonharja (Celosia spicata), jota kutsutaan myös vehnäkukoisoksi, ihastuttaa tähkämäisillä, vehnää muistuttavilla kukinnoillaan kirkkaan vaaleanpunaisen, punaisen ja violetin sävyissä. Helposti kasvatettava ja monikäyttöinen, se tuo väriä ja rakennetta kukkapenkkeihin, reunuksiin ja ruukkuistutuksiin.

Kasvi kasvaa 60–80 cm korkeaksi ja viihtyy parhaiten aurinkoisilla, hyvin ojitetuilla kasvupaikoilla. Pitkäkestoiset kukinnot sopivat erinomaisesti sekä leikko- että kuivakukiksi, tehden Celosia spicata -lajista upean lisän loppukesän ja syksyn kukkakimppuihin.
