Browallia americana | Bush Violet

Browallia americana, also known as Bush Violet or Amethyst Flower, is a charming annual that produces masses of delicate, star-shaped blue to violet blooms throughout the summer. Its airy habit and continuous flowering make it a beautiful choice for borders, hanging baskets, containers, and mixed plantings.

This heat-tolerant variety thrives in sun to partial shade and rewards you with a long season of vibrant color. Growing up to 30–40 cm tall, Browallia americana is an excellent filler plant that adds soft texture and brightness to garden displays or summer bouquets.

Easy to grow from seed, it performs wonderfully both in gardens and balcony planters — perfect for gardeners who love long-lasting, effortless color.

🌸 Ideal for: containers, hanging baskets, bedding displays, and cut flower arrangements.
🌱 Sowing: February–April indoors; transplant after frost. Prefers light, well-drained soil.
