Antirrhinum majus Candy Showers Rose F1 | Trailing Snapdragon Seeds

Candy Showers Rose F1 is a trailing snapdragon with rich rose-pink flowers and flexible stems that cascade over the edges of hanging baskets, window boxes and pots. Its vibrant colour adds warmth to container displays, while the low, spreading habit also makes it suitable for colourful ground cover in flower beds.

Grow it alone for a rose-pink cascade or combine it with white, purple and soft pink flowers for a mixed display.

Rose-Pink Flowers for Hanging Baskets

Candy Showers Rose F1 brings a vibrant rose-pink tone and a flowing shape to seasonal plantings. Its strong, flexible stems resist breakage and perform well in the garden.

Plant in hanging baskets to showcase the trailing growth, or allow the flowering stems to spill over balcony boxes and raised planters. Combine with pansies, violas and ornamental cabbage for spring and autumn arrangements.

Sowing & Germination

Sowing Method: Start indoors for transplanting
Germination Temperature: Approximately 18°C
Initial Germination Stage: Around 10 days under suitable conditions
Seedling Production: Approximately 4–5 weeks

Sow into a fine, moist, well-drained seed compost. Cover only very lightly with vermiculite rather than burying the seeds deeply.

If supplied as pelleted seed, moisten thoroughly at sowing and maintain even moisture so the coating can dissolve. Avoid waterlogging and do not allow the seed surface to dry out during germination.

After emergence, provide bright light and good ventilation. Continue growing at approximately 15–18°C as seedlings develop. Feed lightly, as young snapdragons are sensitive to excessive fertiliser.

Transplant promptly when seedlings have approximately two pairs of true leaves, allowing them to establish and develop their trailing growth in the final container. Harden off before moving outdoors and protect from hard frost.

Growing & Care

Choose a sunny to partially shaded position and containers with drainage holes. Use good-quality, well-drained potting compost.

Water regularly, especially in hanging baskets, where the compost dries more quickly. Allow the surface to dry slightly between waterings without letting plants wilt. Feed moderately with a balanced fertiliser.

Leave room for the plants to spread and trail. Several plants can be combined in a larger basket for a fuller display.

Flowering & Seasonal Displays

Candy Showers can flower under relatively short days, making it useful for spring and autumn displays where temperatures are suitable. Longer days and good light encourage faster development and more abundant flowering.

Under suitable production conditions, allow approximately 9–12 weeks from sowing for smaller flowering pots and 12–15 weeks for larger hanging basket displays. Timing varies with temperature, daylength and the number of plants per container.
