Sunflower ‘Astra Yellow Brown’ F1

Helianthus annuus | Multi-Branching Sunflower

Sunflower ‘Astra Yellow Brown’ F1 is an unusual, multi-branched sunflower producing multiple blooms on a single stem. The semi-double, star-shaped flowers feature fluffy centres in warm yellow-brown and bronze tones, creating a rich, autumnal look. As the season progresses, flower tones may develop subtle pinkish hues, adding extra interest.

This variety forms medium-tall plants with sturdy stems and numerous long side shoots that flower successively over a long period. Growing to around 100–120 cm, ‘Astra Yellow Brown’ is well suited for flower beds, mixed borders, and cutting gardens. It is also a favourite with children, as sunflowers are easy, fast, and rewarding to grow.

Unlike many tall sunflowers, this variety is surprisingly tolerant of partial shade, making it ideal for planting near fences, walls, large trees, or even close to water features. The flowers are excellent for cutting—dramatic, long-lasting, and effortless to arrange.
