Exceptional Green Flowers
Corelli Sugoi™ Green stands out for its fresh green flowers, a colour that brings an unusual botanical character to bouquets and floral arrangements.
Rather than competing with other colours, green lisianthus works beautifully as a transition colour, connecting flowers in different shades and giving arrangements a natural, harmonious appearance.
The large double flowers are composed of numerous ruffled and fringed petals, creating a rich, almost rose-like appearance while retaining the elegant character of lisianthus.
Corelli Sugoi™ – Extra-Large Fringed Flowers
Corelli is a professional lisianthus series developed for high-quality cut-flower production. The sought-after Sugoi™ selections are distinguished by extra-large flowers with beautifully fringed petals.
Corelli Sugoi™ Green combines:
Fresh green colour • Extra-large flowers • Excellent doubleness • Fringed and ruffled petals • Long 70–90 cm stems • Professional cut-flower quality • Group 3
Its distinctive flower form gives bouquets additional volume and texture, making it especially valuable for premium floristry.
Group 3 Lisianthus
Corelli Sugoi™ Green belongs to Group 3.
Lisianthus groups help growers select varieties according to the production season. Group 3 varieties are suited to warmer, brighter production periods with higher light levels and temperatures than the earlier groups.
This makes Corelli Sugoi™ Green particularly suitable for summer cut-flower production.
Actual flowering time depends on sowing date, temperature, day length, light intensity and growing conditions.
When to Sow Lisianthus
Lisianthus develops slowly during its early stages, so early sowing is recommended when growing for cut flowers.
Sow indoors or under protected conditions several months before the desired flowering period.
The exact sowing date should be adjusted according to local climate, production system and desired harvest period.
How to Sow Pelleted Lisianthus Seeds
Lisianthus seeds are extremely small and are therefore supplied as pelleted seeds, making accurate sowing much easier.
Fill plug trays with a fine, moist and well-drained seed-starting substrate.
Place 1 pelleted seed on the surface of each cell and gently press it against the growing medium.
Do not bury the seed. Lisianthus requires light for germination.
If desired, cover only with a very thin layer of fine vermiculite while ensuring that light can still reach the seed.
Maintain a temperature of approximately 20–22°C and keep the substrate evenly moist.
Germination usually takes approximately 20–25 days under suitable conditions.
It is particularly important that the pellet does not dry out after sowing. Keep it consistently moist until the coating has fully softened.
Growing the Seedlings
After germination, provide seedlings with plenty of light, good air circulation and carefully controlled moisture.
Keep the growing medium evenly moist but never constantly saturated. Good light encourages compact, strong seedlings.
Avoid prolonged excessive temperatures during the early seedling stage, as high temperatures can interfere with normal lisianthus development.
Transplanting
Transplant when the seedlings have developed a healthy root system and are large enough to handle.
Lisianthus performs best in fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of light.
Avoid leaving young plants in plug trays for too long. Timely transplanting encourages healthy root establishment and strong subsequent growth.
For professional cut-flower production, support netting is recommended to help produce long, straight and high-quality stems.
Growing Corelli Sugoi™ Green
Corelli Sugoi™ Green develops long stems of approximately 70–90 cm topped with impressive double green flowers.
Maintain consistent moisture during active growth, but avoid waterlogged conditions. Balanced nutrition, good light and appropriate temperatures encourage strong stems and high-quality flowers.
As a Group 3 variety, it is particularly suitable for production during warmer and brighter growing periods.
Harvesting for Cut Flowers
Harvest when one or more flowers on the stem have opened, adjusting the harvest stage according to intended use, storage and transport.
Cut long stems with clean, sharp tools and place them immediately into clean water.
The combination of large double flowers, unusual green colouring and long stems makes Corelli Sugoi™ Green particularly useful for professional floral work.
A Versatile Colour for Modern Floristry
Green is one of the most versatile colours in floristry because it can function as both a flower colour and a visual bridge between foliage and other blooms.
Corelli Sugoi™ Green is particularly beautiful with white and cream flowers for elegant neutral arrangements, while champagne, blush and apricot create soft romantic palettes.
For more dramatic designs, combine it with burgundy, plum or deep purple flowers.
Its unusual colour and textured petals make it especially suitable for weddings, event floristry, natural garden-style bouquets and premium floral designs.
Why Grow Corelli Sugoi™ Green?
