Growing Potomac™ Cherry Rose

Potomac™ Cherry Rose performs particularly well during periods of high light, long days and warm temperatures.

Plants develop tall, strong stems and long flower spikes with excellent flower quality, making the variety especially suitable for professional cut-flower production.

Under suitable conditions, the crop requires approximately 8–10 weeks from transplanting to finish. During less favourable growing periods, development can be slower and finishing time may extend to as much as 18 weeks.

Potomac™ can also be grown year-round when supplemental high-intensity lighting is available.

Planting Density

For professional cut-flower production, the recommended planting density is approximately 64–106 plants per m².

Higher-density planting can be used under high-light conditions or in field production.

What Does Group 3–4 Mean?

Professional cut-flower snapdragons are divided into flowering response groups according to the day length, light level and temperature conditions under which they perform best.

Potomac™ Cherry Rose F1 is a Group 3–4 variety, suited to production when light levels and temperatures are increasing through the warmer part of the season.

Potomac™ varieties are particularly valued for production under long days, high light and warm temperatures.

What Colour is Potomac™ Cherry Rose?

Cherry Rose is a rich rose-pink shade with the deeper character suggested by its cherry colouring. It provides more depth than a soft pastel pink while remaining highly versatile for floristry.

It pairs beautifully with blush pink, cream, ivory, apricot, burgundy and deeper rose tones, as well as foliage and textural flowers.

Why Grow Potomac™ Cherry Rose?

Potomac™ Cherry Rose combines a distinctive cherry-rose colour with long, strong stems and high-quality flower spikes.

Its performance under high light, long days and warm temperatures makes it particularly useful for summer cut-flower production, while supplemental high-intensity lighting can extend its production season.

A strong choice for growers looking for a professional Group 3–4 snapdragon with excellent stem and flower quality.
