Begonia tuberosa | Begonia tuberhybrida

Begonia × tuberhybrida, conocida como begonia tuberosa, es una espectacular planta ornamental apreciada por sus grandes flores, su extraordinaria variedad de colores y su prolongada floración. Dependiendo de la variedad, las flores pueden ser simples, semidobles o completamente dobles, con formas elegantes y muy decorativas.

Las begonias tuberosas son ideales para cultivar en macetas, jardineras, cestas colgantes, terrazas y parterres. Según la variedad, las plantas pueden presentar un crecimiento compacto y erguido o desarrollar un elegante porte colgante.

Una de sus grandes ventajas es su capacidad para florecer abundantemente en lugares donde no hay sol directo durante todo el día. Prefieren una ubicación luminosa o en semisombra, con un sustrato fértil, suelto y bien drenado. Un riego regular y una fertilización adecuada favorecen una floración abundante y continua durante toda la temporada.

Las begonias tuberosas no toleran las heladas. Los tubérculos formados durante la temporada pueden extraerse antes de las primeras heladas y conservarse durante el invierno en un lugar fresco, seco y protegido de las heladas.
