Papaver nudicaule Colibrì® CHIARO PASTELLO | Iceland Poppy

Papaver nudicaule Colibrì® CHIARO PASTELLO is an exquisite Iceland Poppy variety bred in Italy, offering refined pastel-colored blooms that exude elegance and serenity. The soft shades harmonize beautifully with other garden flowers, making it an ideal choice for creating delicate, sophisticated floral displays. Perfect for borders, mixed beds, or cut flower arrangements, this poppy brings gentle charm with its large, graceful blooms.

The Colibrì® series is a supersized, Italian-bred improvement on traditional Iceland Poppies. While each plant produces fewer stems, the flowers are exceptionally large, show-stopping, and highly desirable for cut flower use. Often called the “queen of all poppies,” Colibrì® CHIARO PASTELLO combines beauty and reliability, with a strong germination rate of around 80%.

Reaching 50 cm in height, plants are ideal for beds, borders, and rock gardens. They thrive in full sun and well-drained, sandy soil rich in calcium and phosphorus. Sow indoors from January to April or outdoors from March to May or August to October. Seeds germinate at 15–18 °C within 2–4 weeks. Flowering begins about 100–120 days from sowing and continues from May through July.
