Produktserie: Saponaria officinalis | Soapwort

Bring natural charm and effortless beauty to your garden with Saponaria officinalis, commonly known as Soapwort. This hardy, easy-to-grow perennial is loved for its soft clusters of pale pink to white blooms and its ability to thrive even in poor, dry soils. Traditionally used as a natural soap plant, its leaves and roots produce a gentle lather when mixed with water—an added botanical curiosity for herb gardeners.

Reaching 60–90 cm in height, Soapwort forms spreading clumps that create a beautiful, airy display from June to September. It is excellent for naturalistic plantings, cottage gardens, meadow borders, slopes, and areas where low-maintenance plants are essential. Its fragrant flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it both ornamental and ecologically valuable.

Sow seeds in well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. Once established, Soapwort is extremely resilient, drought-tolerant, and requires minimal care—perfect for both beginner gardeners and experienced growers seeking reliable perennial structure and long-lasting summer blooms.
