Calamintha nepeta Marvelette Blue

The marvelous Marvelettes: two exciting varieties for a fantastic garden performance. Calamintha is an aromatic, culinary herb with great ornamental value. Marvelette Blue and White are first-year-flowering and hardy perennials. They will flower within 12 weeks from a spring sowing and will flower all summer long.

Germination

• Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost with horticultural sand 1:1 ratio. Cover lightly with sand.
• Ideal temp. 20°C.
• Germination takes 21-28 days. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Move to -4-+4°C for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. 
• Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 80cm spacing.
