Linaria maroccana Licilia Violet
Baby Snapdragon, Leinkraut, Linaire du Maroc. Linaria is a quick growing annual which will bloom within 6 weeks from a direct sowing in early spring. Linaria is an elegant filler in herbaceous borders for a quick display of summer colours. They intermingle attractively with neighbouring plants and create clouds of charming little snapdragon-like flowers. The long stems are also excellent cut flowers with a good vase life
Linaria maroccana Licilia Deep violet blue with a bright yellow throat. The flowers are like dainty snapdragons, these delicate spire-shapes are a valuable addition to spring arrangements helping to lighten and loosen the heavier shapes of tulips and Ranunculus. It is a fast growing hardy annual with a good two month flowering period and a long vase life.
Germination
Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Cover with a fine layer of compost. Propagate. Ideal temp. 20-30°C. Germination takes 5-21 days. Transplant once seedlings are large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 50cm spacing.
